The British Pig That Nearly Started a War

In 1859 a British pig ate an American farmer's potatoes. The farmer shot it.

Eleven days later there were 460 U.S. soldiers and 5 British warships facing each other on a small island in the Pacific.

Both governments were horrified when they found out what their generals had done.
