The Drug the U.S. Military Fed to Its Own Soldiers

The U.S. military issued mefloquine, a drug with documented psychosis and permanent brain damage as side effects, to hundreds of thousands of soldiers without disclosing the full risk profile. FDA added a black box warning to mefloquine, its most serious warning category, for permanent neurological and psychiatric effects. The military had been issuing it for over two decades.
